| a) Apply a good adhesive using the trowel recommended for the type of tile and adhesive used. Start adhesive application at the intersection between horizontal and vertical working lines and work towards one wall. Be careful not to apply more adhesive than can be covered with tile before adhesive starts to skin. Refer to directions on adhesive container. If adhesive starts to skin over before tile can be laid, scrape it off the surface and apply fresh adhesive. |
| b) From the corner where the horizontal and vertical working lines intersect, install whole tile working up and towards one corner to cover half the wall. Set tile into place with a slight twisting motion , pressing firmly.

As you tile, remove one periodically to check that you are getting good adhesive transfer (close to 100% coverage) on the back of the tile. After completing installation of tile, remove bottom batten (if used) and install bottom row of tile and any tile requiring cut-outs for fixtures. |
